On the occasion of the 42nd edition of Macfrut, scheduled to take place from 6th to 8th May 2025 at the Rimini Expo Centre, ILIP confirms its participation as an exhibitor and strengthens its position in the fruit and vegetable sector by playing a leading role in the new Berry Area, where it will be present as a Gold Sponsor.
A European leader in thermoformed packaging for fresh produce, ILIP will showcase its latest innovations for berry packaging, with solutions developed to combine product protection, extended shelf life, and environmental sustainability.
Among the new products on display are the B40 and B46 Air Wave heat-sealable punnets in R-PET, designed with a domed base to absorb shocks and eliminate the need for a pad. Fully recyclable within the R-PET stream, they meet the growing market demands for efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Significant focus will also be given to T2T R-PET, a material obtained through a closed-loop recycling process – not only from post-consumer bottles, but also from PET punnets and trays – thanks to the AMP Recycling plant, part of the ILPA Group.
In line with its eco-design approach, ILIP will also present ezy:split, the first hybrid punnet made from R-PET and cardboard for premium fruit such as strawberries and cherries. The cardboard support allows for a plastic reduction of up to 45%, with the option to easily separate materials for efficient recycling.
Within the Berry Area, ILIP will have the opportunity to engage directly with industry experts and professionals, including a dedicated 15-minute presentation slot, during which it will highlight the key role of packaging in reducing food waste and improving berry preservation.
The Berry Area will be a valuable opportunity for listening and exchange,” commented Gianluca Tamagnini, Business Manager of the Fresh Produce Packaging BU. “Packaging plays an increasingly crucial role in the fight against food waste and in the sustainability of the fruit and vegetable supply chain. Our solutions are designed to support producers in complying with the new European PPWR regulation, in force since the beginning of the year.
With its strategy based on the three Rs of sustainability – Reduce, Recycle, Renewable Resources – ILIP confirms its position as a benchmark for innovative and responsible fruit and vegetable packaging, ready to meet future environmental and regulatory challenges.
