Hinojosa consolidates its presence in Europe with the acquisition of the Italian MS Packaging

Spanish packaging manufacturer Hinojosa Packaging Group continues to expand its international presence with the recent acquisition of MS Packaging, an Italian group specialising in the production of paper, paper packaging and corrugated board with a turnover of 60 million euros.

This is a new phase for Hinojosa, which is focusing on internationalisation as a strategy to continue expanding its range of eco-friendly packaging, with a turnover of 739 million euros (in 2023), 2,900 employees and 24 production plants in Spain, Portugal, France and Italy.

Decarbonisation is one of the company's key objectives, with a 22% reduction in emissions and carbon footprint by 2023 compared to the previous year.

In terms of improving and expanding the product offering, 2023 continued to focus on innovation, which is key to interpreting the future of the industry and anticipating social changes and customer demands so that we can accompany them on their path to growth. An example of this is the trend towards eating out, which reached record levels in 2023.

With this in mind, last year Hinojosa launched Foodservice, an innovative line of 100% recyclable, environmentally friendly primary containers for beverages and convenience foods, designed to meet the current demands of a growing market seeking solutions to improve waste management and help slow the advance of climate change.
