Coca-Cola HBC Italia publishes its 21st sustainability report

Coca-Cola HBC Italia, the leading producer and distributor of The Coca-Cola Company branded products in Italy, reaffirms its commitment to a more sustainable business model with the publication of its 21st Sustainability Report, titled “Change Flows”.

The report, drawn up in accordance with GRI Standards (Global Reporting Initiative) and reviewed by Deloitte & Touche, outlines the company’s 2024 achievements along a journey that began more than two decades ago – and continues with over €90 million in planned investments in Italy for 2025.

The company’s long-term strategy focuses on sustainable innovation and the active engagement of key stakeholders: industry partners, institutions, customers, suppliers, associations and local communities.

The report transparently documents progress made in several strategic areas, including packaging circularity, CO emissions reduction, responsible water resource management, and numerous initiatives promoting inclusion, training, welfare and workplace safety for its approximately 2,000 employees.

The new investments will benefit Coca-Cola HBC Italia’s six production sites across five Italian regions, supporting projects in sustainability, technological innovation and modernisation.

This reinforces the company's role as a key industrial player in Italy – a position recently acknowledged by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, which named Coca-Cola HBC the world’s most sustainable beverage company in 2024.

The group achieved the top ranking for the ninth time, and has featured among the global leaders for 14 consecutive years.

“Coca-Cola HBC Italia was among the first companies to introduce a Sustainability Report back in 2004. We strongly believe that the growth of our business is only possible through a strategy that integrates environmental, social and economic sustainability,” stated Giangiacomo Pierini, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director at Coca-Cola HBC Italia. “Coca-Cola has been present in Italy for almost 100 years, and we are deeply embedded in its social fabric – acting as a driver of economic development thanks also to over half a billion euros invested since 2010 in sustainable innovation.”
