Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE), a world leading platform in the supply of e-commerce, shipping and logistics solutions as well as printing and marketing services to support both SMEs and individuals, is the main sponsor of (un)fair, the exhibition dedicated to contemporary art which took place at Superstudio Maxi in Milan, from 3 to 5 March 2023.
This year too, MBE has been the protagonist of (un)fair with the "MBE (UN)Wrapping Station", an operational stand aimed at supporting the organisers of the event with value-added services for the packaging and shipping of the works of art sold at the exhibition. Paintings, prints, photographs, installations, sculptures and paintings can be handed to MBE experts to be packaged and shipped throughout Italy and abroad.
The participation in (un)fair also represented an opportunity to introduce MBE Auction, the new digital solution dedicated to arts developed by Mail Boxes Etc. It is web platform specifically conceived to automate order and delivery procedures, including instant quotation, the collection of the work of art, tailored packaging and home delivery.
MBE Auction is designed for artists, auction houses, and galleries that have an online sales channel and want to integrate MBE solutions to offer customers a reliable service.
In order to combine the experience in packaging services as well as high-level solutions and materials, MBE decided to continue the collaboration with Raja Italia, a company specialising in the production of high-performance and sustainable packaging. MBE and Raja Italia are both focused on eco-sustainability values such as, for example, the reduction of packaging materials, the redesign of packaging with the aim of mitigating the environmental impact, the use of bio-based materials obtained from renewable natural resources.
From the union of art and sustainability comes "Second Life MBE" a joint project between Mail Boxes Etc. and Raja Italia in partnership with Artàporter: an artistic campaign that invites artists to work with waste materials deriving from packaging, otherwise destined for pulping. The goal is to provide food for thoughts on sustainable development, following the concept of the 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recovery), giving new life to objects and materials after their first life cycle: not only in a functional way, but also and above all in a creative and artistic way.
In addition to having a functional value, the participation of MBE and Raja Italia in (un)fair therefore also assumes an environmental and strategic value in the field of artistic expression.
