Verallia, the food and beverage glass container manufacturer, has completed the acquisition of Vidrala in Italy, a company with sales of 131 million euros and EBITDA of 33 million euros in 2023.
This transaction, valued at 230 million euros and realised through a 3-year financing agreement with a pool of international banks, reflects Verallia's willingness to invest further in a strategic and growing market and to expand its offer of glass containers for the food and beverage industry in Italy.
Equipped with two recently renovated furnaces, the Vidrala plant in Corsico (Milan) benefits from modern production facilities with a capacity of 225 kt/year and enjoys a strong position particularly in the beer, food and spirits markets. Nearly 200 employees will strengthen Verallia's expertise in a knowledge-sharing perspective.
Following this acquisition, the Verallia Group now operates 7 production sites in Italy.
Patrice Lucas, CEO of Verallia Group, commented:
The acquisition of the Corsico (Milan) plant is a real asset for Verallia's growth. It is in line with our strategic growth plan in the main European markets. It is an opportunity to strengthen our operational excellence for the benefit of our customers,
Marco Ravasi, CEO of Verallia Italy, added:
I am very pleased with the outcome of this acquisition project, which will allow us to improve our industrial presence in Italy and enhance our ability to meet the expectations and needs of our customers.
