Since its launch in 2021, the Robatech Vision adhesive melter has been synonymous with high-quality adhesive application. Smart and sustainable, its modern design won over customers right from the start. Since then, more features and options have been added to make the Vision melter even more attractive. The first Vision melter was integrated into an end-of-line packaging solution by Italian OEM Imach for its customer Caffè Izzo. They were attracted by Vision's modern design, which promised both ease of use and increased sustainability through energy savings. Another reason for choosing the then brand-new Vision melter was its ease of maintenance. The service door provides access to all serviceable components, while the SmartTerminal shows the operating status on the LED display. Even from a distance, operators can see whether the gluing process is running smoothly or whether, for example, the adhesive needs to be topped up.
Different sizes and variations for all needs
The Vision family of melters has grown over the past two years. Vision is now available in several sizes and variations. The updated models cover melt rates from 5 to 18 kg/h. The glue tank is available in two versions: The classic tank for high glue consumption is suitable for pillows and blocks as well as granules. The tankless version offers a higher melt rate by melting small amounts of adhesive granulate on demand, using an automatic filling system. With a small tank volume, the adhesive heats up quickly, using less energy. Short processing times also help to prevent carbonisation.
Other options include various field bus systems for system integration, touch displays and transformers for the US market.
Integrated pattern control
The much anticipated AS40 pattern control is available on the Pro versions. It allows customers to program up to 32 glue lines per channel, dot or line mode, fixed length or automatic length adjustment. In addition, format-specific settings and application patterns can be stored in over 1,000 jobs and recalled manually or by PLC.
48% less energy
Robatech promised a 20% reduction in energy consumption compared to its predecessor, the Concept. JTI (Japan Tobacco International) Switzerland wanted to know for sure and tested the Vision melter together with the Performa heated hose. In parallel with their existing system, they tested the Vision S melter, two Performa heated hoses and two AX Diamond bead application heads. The result surprised everyone: Robatech's system used 48% less energy than the competitor's system.
