Prosweets, the International Trade Fair for the Confectionery and Snack Food Industry, which takes place in Cologne from 28 to 31 January, is one of the key events for Ulma Packaging, a Spanish company that aims to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the packaging industry by continuing to develop packaging equipment with a focus on productivity, efficiency, digitalisation and sustainability.
One of the solutions on offer is the FR 400 TWIN two-in-one horizontal packaging machine for the confectionery, chocolate and biscuit industries, which offers high performance and production speeds of 2 x 70 metres per minute up to 2 x 700 packs per minute. The system takes up 50 per cent less space, has a user-friendly interface that allows both machines to be controlled from a single control panel, and features a top-mounted control panel for easy access from both sides.
Among the novelties offered by Ulma Packaging is the VTC 800R Plus-CUT vertical packaging machine, equipped with the new Plus-Cut cutting system, for the production of doypacks and pillow packs in 100% recyclable mono-material film. There are several advantages to this solution: a Doypack with a premium finish; a production capacity of up to 80 packs per minute; low maintenance costs as the machine is equipped with a blade-less, long-life cutting system; costs up to 50% lower than pre-formed Doypacks; no cutting waste, saving 4 mm of film over the length of each pack.
