With the launch of the new BD VIVA LITE 75 CL bottle, Vidrala takes another significant step towards a more sustainable future in the packaging industry. The new bottle, with a capacity of 75 cl and a weight of only 300 grams, is a concrete example of eco-innovation, significantly reducing environmental impact without compromising on design and strength.
Lighter packaging, greener future Compared to its previous version, the BD VIVA LITE allows for the avoidance of over 48 tonnes of CO₂ for every one million bottles produced, thanks to an overall reduction in emissions for both white and coloured glass. This achievement is the result of the packaging lightweighting strategy, which was initiated in 2024 with the launch of the BD NOVA LITE.
Concrete environmental benefits The redesign of the BD VIVA LITE, made possible through investments in research and development, offers several environmental advantages:
- Saving 45,000 kg of raw materials;
- Reducing 8,580 litres of water consumption;
- Saving 52,960 kWh of fossil fuels and 9,821 kWh of electricity.
These figures represent a significant step forward in reducing the ecological footprint of production and transportation, further cementing Vidrala’s position as a leader in sustainable packaging.
Ongoing commitment to the future The BD VIVA LITE marks a new milestone in Vidrala’s strategic vision. Following the success of the BD NOVA LITE, the company is preparing to launch new lightweight containers in the coming months, expanding its range and offering increasingly competitive and eco-friendly packaging solutions.
With this innovation, Vidrala reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainability in the glass industry, meeting the demands of a market that is increasingly focused on a green future.
