Trinseo has recently unveiled its latest product: Ligos A 9200, a water-based adhesive specifically designed for dry lamination of flexible food-contact packaging. This new offering marks a significant advancement in both innovation and sustainability within the packaging sector.
Ligos A 9200 demonstrates our commitment to delivering solutions that drive innovation and sustainability. This robust and versatile acrylic emulsion is suitable for various films and meets our customers’ needs by contributing to the production of high-quality, cost-effective, and more sustainable packaging end products,
stated Giona Kilcher, Global Case Business Director.
Ligos A 9200 stands out for its versatility, being compatible with a broad spectrum of materials including paper and various plastics such as PVC, polyamide, and polyester. Its high adhesion properties and durability ensure rapid lamination and effective drying, thereby optimising the production process. Additionally, Ligos A 9200's innovative formula facilitates quick cutting in post-lamination processes, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing processing times.
A particularly noteworthy feature of Ligos A 9200 is its sustainability certification. The emulsion has been certified by the Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS), an independent research and service institute of the German paper industry, through the CEPI recyclability testing method, Version 2. PTS tests have confirmed that over 99% of the paper within the product structure is recovered for recycling, underscoring Trinseo's commitment to more eco-friendly and responsible solutions.
With the launch of Ligos A 9200, Trinseo reaffirms its role as a pioneer in the packaging adhesive sector, combining high performance with a strong focus on environmental sustainability.
