Global supply chain management and the safe and sustainable transport of goods are the common thread running through Schütz's production of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), plastic and steel drums and jerrycans.
This includes the packaging of the new Green Layer series: in the middle layer of the IBC wineskin, the body of the drums and jerrycans in this series, Schütz uses 30% high-quality, natural-coloured recycled material, which in turn is recovered as part of the global empty packaging take-back programme. Sustainable product innovations include a new underpass plastic pallet designed specifically for the safe and undisturbed transport of IBCs in modern automated warehouses. Its special geometry makes it particularly suitable for internal transport with handling systems.
A further innovation is the Schütz Dip-Tube system, which allows very sensitive and hazardous products to be removed from IBCs and PE drums by leaving them completely closed. This solution has been specifically designed to protect liquids from external contamination during transfer. Finally, the laser-welded drum, made from hot-dip galvanised sheet steel directly from the coil, sets a new standard in the sector. Once the lid and base have been assembled, the laser-welded drum is immediately completely protected against corrosion, both inside and out.
