Crealis continues to lead the way in sustainable innovation within the packaging sector with the launch of “Virtuo”, an innovative capsule for premium wine and spirits bottles, made entirely from recycled tin.
This solution marks a significant step forward in reducing carbon footprint, achieving a 61% decrease compared to traditional virgin tin capsules produced by the same brand.
Despite the use of recycled material, “Virtuo” retains its performance in terms of purity, design, and functionality throughout both production and bottling line processes.
Isabelle Gruard, Group Marketing Director at Crealis, highlights the importance of research and development at the core of this innovation:

The name “Virtuo”, inspired by the word “virtuous”, evokes artisanal excellence and the harmony between aesthetics and sustainability – a perfect reflection of the Crealis philosophy.
The capsule, manufactured at the Rivercap plant in Spain, is monomaterial, up to 99% recyclable, and made from a single piece of high-purity recycled tin ingots, sourced largely from the European electronics industry.
By combining circular economy principles, recyclability, quality, and elegance, “Virtuo” is fully aligned with Crealis’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy.
The Group, which published its first Sustainability Report in January, has long been committed to driving the wine packaging industry towards increasingly eco-friendly solutions – in both products and processes.
