Acqua Lete and Associazione Calcio Milan, together for a green project

On 22nd April, on the occasion of Earth Day, Acqua Lete and the AC Milan Football Club announced the launch of an innovative environmental sustainability project in collaboration with Coripet, an Italian consortium in the collection and recycling of PET bottles.

In synergy with the historic Italian mineral water brand, which has always been present in the world of sport and has a strong environmental vocation, AC Milan has inaugurated, at its Casa Milan headquarters and at the Milanello and Puma House of Football sports centres, an articulated project that realises a true circular economy model through the collection of PET bottles, carried out through the installation of special eco-compactors, and the subsequent recycling of the bottles in a "bottle to bottle" logic.

With this project, Lete, AC Milan and Coripet aim to give new life to more than 400,000 bottles over the course of a sporting season, thus contributing to the protection of the ecosystem by reducing CO2 emissions. The initiative will be subject to regular reporting on the total number of bottles collected and the evaluation of the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions achieved.

This commitment is not only an important initiative in terms of selective collection, but also the first step in an ambitious project aimed at raising awareness of the importance of correct environmental practices among opinion leaders and all of AC Milan's key stakeholders, starting with its employees and fans.

Nicola Arnone, President of Acqua Lete, said:

Our company was the first in the food sector to use 100% green energy for all its production needs and is a founding partner of Coripet, which we wanted to have at our side in this project, together with AC Milan, to demonstrate that the synergy between different subjects, united by great skills and shared visions, can be a virtuous model to follow.

Corrado Dentis, President of Coripet stated:

Finding realities willing to make a real commitment to the environment is an encouragement for all of us at Coripet to continue our Bottle-to-Bottle project with enthusiasm and determination. Creating new raw material for new bottles from used bottles means avoiding the extraction of new resources thanks to the closed loop.
