The Previero PR 2800 shredder is one of the Sorema lines designed to wash and shred post-commercial, post-logistics and post-agricultural film, pre-sorted by colour and polymer, with more than 80% stretch film. These solutions can reach an output of over 10,000 tons per year. They can reach an output of more than 10,000 tons/year.
It can also be used on HDPE bottle washing lines where, thanks to its cutting geometry, it is able to open the bottles and separate the metal parts of the sprays that would damage the mill blades, with a productivity of up to 5,000 kg/h.
The film washing line starts with an infeed conveyor and a PR 2800 shredder; after loading the bales of film, the operator removes the steel wire that binds the bales so that the conveyor can feed the shredder.
The PR 2800 shredder, designed for easy and efficient operation and maintenance thanks to its tangential blade and water-cooled rotor, pre-cuts and feeds the film to the washing line, optimising downstream operations.
Moreover, the shredder is equipped with a hydraulic motor with maximum torque from standstill to ensure minimum energy consumption for film cutting and to reduce the risk of rotor damage caused by inert material entering the cutting chamber. In the event of an overload, the rotor stops and rotates in the opposite direction without an inertia pulley.
The benefits of the PR2800 are many, including reducing energy consumption by up to 30% as the motor only draws power when the rotor is running; low rotational speed and cooled rotor ensure evenly sized pieces as required by detector manufacturers, with little fines and a smooth material that is easy to open and dose to the detectors; prepares material to ensure loose, non-welded pieces with minimal wear due to low speed and wear resistant coating; easy access to the grate and cutting chamber for easy maintenance and quick blade changes.
In particular, the specific characteristics of the shredder are given by horizontal hydraulic pusher; motor with reversible rotation, installed power 200 kW; two rotor sizes: Ø 800 x 2000 mm and Ø 800 x 3000 mm; rotor coated with wear-resistant material; interchangeable blades and interchangeable grid.
