Mack & Schühle Italia and Verallia Together for a Sustainable Wine

Innovation, sustainability, and strategic vision: with these principles, Mack & Schühle Italia presented Grapur during the 57th edition of Vinitaly (from 6th to 9th April 2025), a new oenological project set to shape the future of wine. Alongside Verallia, a producer of glass containers, the Italian company launched a product that perfectly blends the new demands of consumers with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

Led by Fedele Angelillo, the Italian branch of the Mack & Schühle Group, which has its roots in Germany since 1939, chose the international fair in Verona to introduce a wine designed to meet the needs of a public increasingly aware of environmental and social impacts.

Grapur is an organic and vegan wine with a low alcohol content (9% ABV) and without dealcoholisation, also distinguished by its reduced caloric intake. It is a product designed for consumers seeking quality, well-being, and, at the same time, a tangible commitment to sustainability.

The project involves some of the most innovative partners in the packaging industry:

  • The “Bordolese AIR” 300g bottle from Verallia, ultra-light and designed to minimise environmental impact at every stage, from production to transport and disposal;
  • Nomacorc Ocean closures by Vinventions and Ocean Action labels by UPM Raflatac, made from plastic recovered from coastal areas and destined for the oceans;
  • Secondary packaging provided by Ondulkart, consisting of corrugated cardboard with lowered waves, made from recycled paper and water-based inks.

Grapur is a concrete demonstration of how innovation and sustainability can go hand in hand in the wine world,” commented Fedele Angelillo, CEO of Mack & Schühle Italia. “It is not just a product that meets the new needs of consumers, but a virtuous model that involves the entire production chain. Collaborating with outstanding partners like Verallia represents an important step in building a future for wine that is ever more responsible and sustainable.

With Grapur, Mack & Schühle Italia strengthens its role as a strategic partner in the national wine sector, sending a strong and clear message: the future of wine cannot overlook sustainability.
