The PET supply chain heads to Brussels

Appointment in Brussels on 4th and 5th February for the 2025 edition of Petcore Europe, which this year is titled "The PET Value Chain: Debating Challenges on the Journey from SUP to PPWR". The event aims to spotlight the successes and challenges of the PET supply chain in transitioning from a linear to a circular model. It will urge the industry to take action and actively participate in policymaker consultations to share expertise and encourage the rapid development of clear and effective regulations. Particular emphasis will be placed on the critical role of innovation and artificial intelligence in restoring the European Union's competitiveness.

The two-day conference will feature high-level representatives from the European Union, such as Denis Redonnet, Deputy Director-General – Chief Trade Enforcement Officer, DG Trade, European Commission; Stefano Soro, Head of Unit – Net Zero Industries, Sustainable and Circular Products, DG Grow, European Commission; and Wolfgang Trunk, Policy Officer for Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, DG ENV, European Commission. Participants will include PET producers, packaging designers and manufacturers, machinery and equipment producers, label manufacturers, brand owners, waste management organisations, recyclers, representatives of European institutions, and European organisations active in the PET sector.

Additionally, the business community will address a wide range of PET-related issues, including circularity, European competitiveness, regulatory and legislative changes, an overview of the Green Deal, technological advancements, global market challenges, insights from Mario Draghi’s report, technical updates from working groups, and much more.
