The first edition of the Greenplast exhibition and conference closed on May 6 at Fiera Milano. The event was welcomed by exhibitors and visitors to the point that Promaplast, the event organiser, announced that this fair dedicated to the environmental sustainability of the plastics industry will come back from May 27 to 30, 2025, as part of The Innovation Alliance, which, like this year, will also bring together the Ipack-Ima, Print4All and Intralogistica Italia exhibitions.
Greenplast opened its doors on May 3 in hall 14 of the Rho-Pero exhibition centre, just outside Milan, on an area of about 6,000 square meters, attracting 170 exhibitors, many of whom underlined how a new event dedicated to the green side of plastics was absolutely necessary in the Italian trade fair scene. Meanwhile, before the next edition of Greenplast, Plast will return from September 5 to 8, 2023. The 2021 edition of the historic fair organised by Promaplast was in fact cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the four days of Greenplast the second edition of the Packaging Speaks Green conference also took place. The combination with the exhibition proved to be an outstanding choice. As shown by the figures, it was a much wanted and much awaited event: over 400 participants and 46 speakers, including 20 from abroad, enlivened the proceedings with panel discussions, debates and case histories. The aim of the forum was to furnish new tools and methods for the design, use, recycling and re-use of sustainable packaging.
