The achievement of sustainability goals inevitably passes through actions to revise and rethink packaging: elimination of overpackaging, lighter packaging, replacement or elimination of virgin plastic, recycling and recovery, and reduction of emissions are the main initiatives activated in the wake of studies aimed at assessing the sustainability of the packaging used.

From the beginning of 2023, Spain will apply a tax of EUR 0.45 per kilogram of non-recycled plastic used in the production of single-use packaging, which will also have a significant impact on ceramic packaging, such as shrink film. Aliplast, the European leader in plastic recycling, can turn this problem into an opportunity with its Reload products. In the scenario of a fully operational Plastic Tax, using an Aliplast film leads to a saving of up to 450 euros per tonne compared to the costs of using a 100% virgin product.

The European Investment Fund (EIF) has signed a EUR 50 million stake in Infinity Recycling's Circular Plastics Fund, a European fund that invests in companies developing new processes for the advanced recycling of plastics and supports companies with scalable technologies that need financing for the industrial and commercial expansion of their businesses.

By the year 2022, the Swedish multinational has achieved important milestones, reducing its operational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 39%, while 84% of the electricity used comes from renewable sources. This puts the company on track to achieve zero emissions for its operations by 2030. In addition, the sale of 8.8 billion packs made from plant-based materials and 11.9 billion caps also from plant-based sources resulted in a saving of 131 tonnes of CO2.
