Founded in 1939 in Bologna, Pelliconi is today a world leader in the production of metal and plastic caps and closures for the Food&Beverage industry. And, in the name of safety, it launches a press-on twist-off metal capsule for baby food with a PVC-free liner.
Pelliconi has always been committed to guaranteeing safe, functional and attractive products thanks to its innate passion for innovation and quality, customer orientation and great sensitivity to food safety and environmental protection issues.
To continue to be a strategic supplier and ensure maximum competitiveness for its customers, Pelliconi has created SoPure®, a capsule designed by listening to the needs of the packaging
market, which is increasingly oriented towards totally sustainable forms of packaging.
A different capsule for baby food
SoPure® is therefore a metal capsule with a diameter of 51 mm of press-on twist-off type, suitable for the packaging of different foods, but mainly used for baby food.
The capsule is particularly innovative, as it has a liner that makes it easier to close and reopen, free of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and plasticizers (phthalates, adipates, epoxy soya oil).
The seal derives from a mixture of thermoplastic elastomers, polyolefins and additives that make SoPure® suitable for different types of production processes, such as pasteurisation and sterilisation.
The fact that the capsule is supplied with a PVC-free liner is an interesting innovation, as it avoids the release of plasticizers into the food.
For this reason, it is a guarantee for all mothers, who can be sure that the baby food is sealed in such a way as to ensure its quality and safety, as well as protecting children’s health.
In addition, SoPure® can be considered a perfect example of environmentally friendly packaging as its new distinguishing liner allows a much easier recycling
process and facilitates the choice of the type of disposal to which it is destinated, making it also suitable for incineration.
