Anglo-Spanish start-up Savvy Pair has won a gold medal for design at the Harpers Design Awards, thanks to the Frugal Bottle.
Co-founders Richard Leaver and Domingo Miguel chose the Frugal Bottle's paper packaging, a format that, along with lightweight glass bottles, bag-in-boxes and cans, ensures the product has a lower environmental impact.
The Frugal Bottle is the world's first paper wine and spirits bottle made from 94% recycled cardboard and is five times lighter than a glass bottle, with an 84% lower carbon footprint, while maintaining its on-shelf appeal.
