The Best Packaging Award, a longstanding accolade that for over 60 years has celebrated sustainable and technological innovation in the sector, returns this year as part of IPACK-IMA, the international trade fair dedicated to processing & packaging, scheduled from 27 to 30 May at Fiera Milano – Rho. The award ceremony will take place on 28 May.
Packaging as an evolving ecosystem
This year’s edition recognises outstanding projects across three key categories: sustainability, technology, and user experience. From material reduction and ergonomic design to scalability and system adaptability, Best Packaging 2025 offers a clear snapshot of a rapidly evolving sector. One that is increasingly aligned with ESG goals and ready to meet the global challenges of industries ranging from food & beverage to cosmetics, and from personal care to pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
An award that reflects the future
“IPACK-IMA is the go-to event for the entire industry, where technological innovation, new materials and sustainability intersect,” explains Francesco Legrenzi, Director of the Italian Packaging Institute. “The Best Packaging Award is more than just a prize – it’s a key moment for connecting businesses, stakeholders and international markets.”
Echoing his words, Valerio Soli, President of Ipack Ima, adds: “Our collaboration with the Italian Packaging Institute strengthens IPACK-IMA’s role as a global innovation platform, showcasing the very best of Made in Italy while embracing emerging trends and forward-looking approaches to packaging design.”
