In 2025, the anti-food-waste app helped save 7.8 million meals (+13%) compared to 2024, driven by growing demand, with more than 2 million new registered users and over 26,000 partner stores.
Too Good To Go ,the world’s largest marketplace for surplus food, has reached a historic milestone: in the two-year period 2024–2025, it saved nearly as many Surprise Bags as in the six years prior (2018–2023). This figure confirms the increasingly rapid growth of its impact in the fight against food waste in Italy, where it has already contributed to saving over 30 million meals.
Rapidly growing community
Nearly 2 million new users joined the app in the past year, bringing the total to over 12 million registered users. This reflects a tangible change in consumption habits, with the user base almost doubling between 2022 and 2026. At the same time, its presence on the ground continues to grow. Today, there are 26,000 active partner stores, and in two out of three Italian cities, at least one meal is saved, demonstrating a widespread presence that reaches both large urban centers and smaller local communities.
This success also translates into a significant environmental impact: it corresponds to avoiding the emission of 86,400 tons of CO₂e. Saving one Surprise Bag (1 kg of food) avoids the emission of 2.7 kg of CO₂e, unnecessary consumption of 810 liters of water, and 2.8 m² of land per year – Source: Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk].
Expanding retail partnerships
In 2025, Too Good To Go strengthened its presence in the retail sector, consolidating existing collaborations – including Alice Pizza, Autogrill, Bar Atlantic, Carrefour Italy, Conad, Crai, Eataly, Gruppo Végé, PENNY, Selex – and welcoming numerous new partners. Among them are Gruppo Finiper (with the Iper La Grande i, Unes, and Rom’Antica brands), Lagardère Travel Retail, Starbucks, and many other companies that joined the fight against food waste.
Box Dispensa reaches 1 million saved Boxes
Meanwhile, Box Dispensa – Too Good To Go’s solution developed with the food industry to reduce waste during the production phase – continues to grow and consolidate. In 2025, it surpassed the milestone of 1 million Boxes saved, thanks to collaborations with more than 100 companies and over 200 leading brands in the food sector, including Bauli, Cameo, Mutti, and Riso Scotti, among others.
Too Good To Go app now also active in Japan
Global expansion continues with the launch in Japan, the first Asian country and the 21st overall where the app is available. Japan is already making significant strides in combating food waste, with ambitious national goals – such as reducing household food waste by 50% and business waste by 60% by 2030. In this context, Too Good To Go can help turn these ambitions into concrete daily actions.
Since its launch in 2016, Too Good To Go has contributed to saving over 500 million meals worldwide, equivalent to 1.3 million tons of CO₂e avoided, thanks to a community of more than 130 million users and over 180,000 partners across 20 countries and 4 continents.
