On 3 December, Coripet, a voluntary consortium recognised by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security dedicated to PET collection and recycling, launched its new rewards catalogue "Every bottle CO₂unts", to further incentivise citizen participation in the selective collection model through reverse vending machines, now widespread throughout the national territory and hosted by hundreds of outlets of major retail chains.
With the new rewards system, each PET bottle deposited in Coripet reverse vending machines is now worth three points, convertible into discounts, benefits and exclusive rewards through three different circuits:
- 1 point – Local rewards circuit: provided by the hosting outlet and valid as a discount on shopping;
- 1 point – "Coripet Rewards You" circuit: dedicated to online purchases with prominent national partners;
- 1 point – New "Every bottle CO₂unts" circuit: provides access to products in the new Coripet rewards catalogue at discounted prices, with a selection ranging from technology to kitchenware, from sport to household goods.
The catalogue features well-known brands appreciated by consumers, with prices already inclusive of delivery charges.
"With this project we want to consolidate citizen engagement in selective PET collection and further support outlets that choose to adopt Coripet reverse vending machines," states Igor Toscani, Marketing Manager. "The new rewards catalogue represents a further step in making an act of environmental responsibility simple, convenient and rewarding."
Thanks to the new catalogue and the steady growth of the reverse vending machine network in large-scale retail, Coripet continues to promote a virtuous circular economy model, transforming used PET bottles into new bottles according to the bottle-to-bottle principle.
Coripet's role is now even more central, as the SUP Directive, in force since 2022, defines collection targets and R-PET usage for new bottles. Within this framework, Italy is called upon to achieve two fundamental milestones: reaching 77% collection of post-consumer PET bottles by 2025 (90% by 2030) and the integration, for sector operators, of a minimum quota of recycled PET equal to 25% by 2025 and 30% by 2030.
