The Board of Directors of the Tetra Laval Group has appointed Pietro Cassani as President and CEO of Sidel, a leading provider of packaging solutions for beverages, food, personal care and household products in PET, cans, glass and other materials.
Cassani will take up his new position on 15 July 2024 and will be based at the company's headquarters in Parma. The appointment follows the decision by Monica Gimre to step down after more than five years as President and CEO of Sidel and 41 years with the Tetra Laval Group.
Pietro Cassani, who holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Bologna and a Masters in Business Administration from SDA Bocconi School of Management, has been Managing Director of the Marchesini Group for the past eight years, a company that designs and manufactures a wide range of machinery and packaging lines for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Prior to this, he was General Manager of the SACMI Group for over 10 years.
The Tetra Laval Group employs more than 34,000 people, has 2023 sales of 15.7 billion euros and operates in more than 170 countries.
