As flexible as a dancer, just as adaptable, and perfect in every performance. These are Xelter TPEs, thermoplastic elastomers produced by Sirmax Group, a company that specializes in polypropylene compounds, engineering plastics, post-consumer compounds and bio-compounds for the most diverse applications.
Xelter TPEs complete Sirmax's wide range of products and find their strong point in their extreme flexibility and ability to adapt to specific client requirements. Xelter TPEs cover a wide range of product families, from Xelter V (TPV) and Xelter S (TPS-SEBS/SEPS), to Xelter Tech ("Hybrid & high-tech TPE"), intended for soft components and TPE-Tecnopolymer couplings and for rigid/soft integrations; to Xelter O (TPO) and Xelter T (TPS-SBS/SIS) for the development of highly customized materials. The range also includes Xelter BIO, SEBS-BioTPU hybrids with high elasticity and resistance properties, which can also be overmolded on technopolymers or where a higher-than-normal resistance to abrasion and wear is required.
Intrinsically green thanks to their thermoplastic recyclability, Xelter TPEs are a viable alternative to vulcanized rubber and lend themselves to more sustainable applications across a variety of industries. As part of the Group's multi-country and multi-product strategy, Sirmax has dedicated an entire plant to the production of Xelter TPEs: the new site built in Kutno, Poland, which stands next to the previous Polish plant inaugurated in 2006. With an installed capacity of about 10,000 tons/year, guaranteed by 3 industrial lines, Sirmax aims at positioning its Xelter TPEs at the top of the market for quality and consistency, also thanks to the synergy with Group companies in the United States and Brazil and with the Autotech-Sirmax JV in India. Xelter TPEs have multiple applications. In addition to the building sector (where they can be used for window frame gaskets, for example) and the household appliance sector (bellows for washing machine doors or other water-contact products), Sirmax also offers TPE grades specifically developed for the automotive sector, and for products suitable for contact with food. In addition, the company’s R&D laboratories have developed specific grades of Green Xelter products that have a reduced environmental impact as they contain selected raw materials from post-industrial and/or post-consumer waste. These products are increasingly in demand and appreciated by the market.
