The manufacturers of bicycles, the ecological vehicle par excellence, also invest in sustainability. In fact, starting from the 2022 season, the packaging of the bicycles made by the Spanish brand Mondraker will be totally plastic-free.
The company decided to design a totally recyclable and recycled box, also eliminating polyurethane clamps and padding. However, the absence of plastic did not prevent the manufacturer from creating a packaging that is also able to protect the content in the same way as previous packaging.
In particular, the adhesive tape for the inner padding is obtained from rice, the security seal on the box from potato pulp, all the stickers are organic, the ink of the writings is organic and biodegradable and inside the boxes there are two Velcro tapes for other uses.
Finally, thanks to the new arrangement of the bicycle components inside the box, the time for assembling the bicycle has decreased further and the overall volume has been reduced compared to previous packaging.
