Founded in 1850, Goglio designs, develops and manufactures complete packaging systems, supplying flexible laminates, plastic valves and components, packaging lines and services for a wide range of applications. In its more than 170-year history, the Group has faced many challenges and has been a pioneer on several fronts. One of these is undoubtedly industrial aseptic packaging, a sector that the company began to explore and develop in the early 1980s. Since then, Goglio has been committed to bringing ever greater benefits to the food industry, a sector in which aseptically packaged liquid products play an extremely important role; just think of processed tomatoes, in all their forms: concentrated, pulp or pieces.
The company's avant-garde approach has given rise to the Fresco Aseptic System brand: a complete packaging solution that combines flexible laminates, machines, plastic accessories and services to ensure the optimum preservation of any product. In particular, Goglio's range of aseptic packaging is designed to preserve the nutritional and organoleptic properties of various types of products, even those with a low acid content, over time, guaranteeing the barrier and mechanical properties necessary for perfect preservation during storage and transport, often over long distances. In this way, products can be processed and preserved at room temperature without the use of preservatives, without the need for refrigeration and with considerable energy savings.
The Fres-co Aseptic System allows the product, sterilised/processed with the latest technology, to be packaged in pre-sterilised aseptic packages with a capacity of up to 1,600 litres, which differ according to the intended use and the type of outer container used. The formats up to 20l are mainly combined with secondary carton packaging and intended for direct consumption and the foodservice sector. They are used, for example, for fruit juices, pulps and sauces, pestos, creams, ice cream bases, other dairy products, etc. Larger packs, used in combination with metal drums or other large-format containers, are instead intended for industrial use.
Also in this case, the company wanted to combine innovation and sustainability, one of the Group's founding pillars as well as a driver of its corporate strategy: in fact, for some years now, Goglio aseptic packs have been provided with environmental labelling for correct packaging disposal at the end of their life cycle. Furthermore, the range has been enhanced with the new green line, made of multilayer mono-PE material and a coextruded EVOH laminate, a composition that guarantees high standards of barrier properties and allows disposal in modern recycling plants, thus making it "recycle ready".
