DS Smith, one of the world's leading sustainable packaging companies, has launched DD Wrap, a new sustainable shelf-ready packaging solution that meets the needs of the circular economy, improves supply chain efficiency and enhances the in-store shopping experience.
The DD Wrap pack is tailored for a variety of packaging solutions and is made from a single piece of board with no perforation on the front to improve visibility and appeal at the point of display. It is easy to open to improve accessibility, reducing the need for sharp tools when opening the carton.
The first DD Wrap packaging solution was developed for biscuits, but can be adapted for other products. Designers have been able to minimise the amount of material and resources used, as well as reducing the size of the boxes, eliminating empty space.
According to recent research by IGD (The Institute of Grocery Distribution), 53% of consumers believe that high quality shelf-ready packaging improves brand communication and 85% of shoppers believe that in-store marketing is more likely to influence their purchasing decisions. 42% of consumers believe that shelf-ready packaging with clear presentation makes shopping easier.
