Glass container manufacturer Vetropack has recently inaugurated its plant in Boffalora sopra Ticino, on the outskirts of Milan, with a ceremony. The event marked the official start of operations at the facility and was attended by the most important business partners, major customers and prominent representatives of local institutions.
The event was held to celebrate the achievements of Vetropack and its partners, as well as the company's continued investment in plant expansion and modernisation. Johann Reiter, CEO of the Vetropack Group, Claude R. Cornaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Sergio Antoci, Managing Director of Vetropack Italia, will speak in person to tell more about the project and the strategic importance of this plant. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a series of guided tours designed to provide an overview of our state-of-the-art production. "We are delighted to have finally reached this milestone," said Johann Reiter, CEO of the Vetropack Group. "Without our partners we would not be here, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved." Three days after the inauguration, the headquarters will also host a staff event, a 'family day' where employees can celebrate this milestone with their families.
Innovation and sustainability
The Boffalora plant has been in operation since May this year, when the preliminary heating of the furnaces began. Since its start-up, the plant has been slowly moving towards series production. Boffalora's strategic investment is mainly based on the integration of high-performance smart technologies. Once the eight production lines are running at full capacity, the plant will guarantee an increase in production capacity of up to 70%, while operating in a more sustainable and resource-efficient manner. In fact, water used for production and waste heat from the furnaces will be reused as much as possible through recirculation systems, while emissions will be significantly reduced thanks to state-of-the-art filter systems. In addition, the new plant will allow for more flexibility by processing in smaller batches. In this way, the company will be able to adapt quickly to dynamic market conditions, thus gaining an advantageous position for the future.
