When expertise and values come together, extraordinary solutions are born. This is what happened in the new project developed together with CIT Pharma, a leading company in the secondary packaging market for pharmaceuticals and food supplements.
A solid and dynamic collaboration has existed between CIT Pharma and Marchesini Group for several years, and this latest project, in particular, demonstrates both companies' commitment to researching and manufacturing flexible yet sustainable solutions. The Group has created a compact and innovative robotic island for the Lombardy-based company for packaging vials and bottles in paper and plastic trays. CIT Pharma needed to expand its production capacity by entering the pharmaceutical market with increasingly flexible technologies capable of meeting the demands of companies oriented towards the use of paper trays.
Marchesini Group has been investing in this field for over twenty years, thanks to a team specialised in designing customised trays and cases, developed according to the type of product, dimensions and quantities to be handled. Each solution is designed and tested to guarantee maximum product protection, whilst simultaneously meeting the needs of customers who wish to optimise the entire process, from the initial stage through to palletisation.
In this area, robotics plays a key role in creating bespoke feeding systems, designed for handling, opening trays and inserting products. Marchesini Group's know-how has proved decisive: developing these technologies in-house enables the Group to adapt its proposals to different requirements, offering a complete and personalised service capable of effectively addressing every challenge.
"Today it is essential to be ready for the green transition, including by adopting solutions such as cardboard cases," explains Marco Villa, production manager at CIT Pharma. "We have been working with Marchesini Group for many years: they are a reliable partner, attentive like us to customers' needs. The fact that they design and manufacture their own robotics in-house represents added value for us, because it allows us to have a single point of contact, with consolidated know-how and an integrated vision of the process".
