Thanks to a collaboration with Forever Bambù, which specialises in planting giant bamboo using organic and symbiotic farming methods, Mixcycling, a producer of environmentally low-impact materials by recovering organic fibres from industrial waste, is expanding its range with BioMix, a biopolymer entirely derived from bamboo fibres.
Developed in Mixcycling's research and development department, the new biopolymer is particularly innovative due to its water-soluble and biodegradable properties, making it a highly versatile solution.
The credit goes entirely to the extraordinary characteristics of giant bamboo, an incredibly versatile plant with applications ranging from food to textiles, from plastics to bio-architecture. With BioMix, we are developing innovative solutions capable of meeting the needs of sectors such as automotive, design, fashion, and more,
explained Marco Vigato, General Manager of Mixcycling.
BioMix is the result of a perfect blend of PHB (polyhydroxybutyrate), a biodegradable polymer, and the plant fibres of our bamboo. Its biodegradability is universal: it decomposes in any environment, whether in the sea, freshwater, or soil, without releasing toxins. This durable and resilient polymer paves the way for countless applications, from packaging to furniture, and even automotive components,
added Mauro Lajo, CEO of Forever Bambù.
