GreenPlast, the new tradeshow-convention dedicated to innovative solutions for environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, reducing-reusing-recycling, and the circular economy - macro-areas in which companies have been investing for years, maintaining dynamism and competitivity - will take place from 3 to 6 May 2022 at the Fiera Milano fairgrounds in Rho-Pero.
At 10:30 am on both 1 and 2 December - in Italian and English, respectively - the second in a series of webinars will be held with the objective of updating participants on new technologies that help make plastics sustainable.
Specifically, this second appointment, titled “Extrusion in recycling processes for plastics and rubber”, will focus on one of the most important conversion technologies for giving new life to post-consumer plastics in perfect harmony with ecological transition objectives.
Three companies will take the floor to illustrate their technological innovations to participants.
The first presentation on the programme is by Corrado Moneta, Technical Sales Manager for ICMA San Giorgio, a leading company in the production of twin-screw extruders and extrusion and compounding plants. The central theme of his talk, titled “Advanced plastics recycling using a co-rotating twin-screw extruder”, is recycling. Moneta starts with the description of simple regranulation of industrial scrap and post-consumer waste to illustrate the substantial physical and rheological properties of the materials.
The second speaker will be Marco Girotto, Technical R&D Project Manager for Maris, a company specialized in the production of co-rotating twin-screw extruders. The title of his talk is “Evorec: advanced solutions for plastics and rubber recycling”. At a time when recovery of plastics plays a key role in the circular economy, Maris has designed and built specific solutions for the recycling and upcycling of post-industrial and post-consumer materials, transforming them into products of high added value.
Lastly, Marco Masiero, Test Engineer, and Alessandro Ruotolo, Extrusion Test and R&D Manager for Bausano, a Piedmont company that designs and produces plastics extrusion lines, have chosen to deliver their contribution, titled “Extrusion and Energy Savings: a winning combination for post-consumer plastics recovery”, in Italian and English, respectively. The strengthening of the circular economy is the new challenge undertaken by Bausano, introducing energy efficiency systems on post-consumer reprocessing lines for materials such as PVC, HDPE, LDPE, and PP. It is a bona fide green proposal to reduce energy consumption in the extrusion process.
