r-PET bottles for seed oils

Sagra, the historic oil brand, has made its commitment to reducing its environmental impact even more tangible by launching new bottles made from 100% recycled plastic that are completely recyclable. A new green milestone in the name of the circular economy and respect for the environment.

Sagra, a brand of the Salov Group, one of the largest Italian companies in the olive oil sector with a net turnover of around 491 million euros in 2022, confirms its commitment to sustainability by launching innovative r-PET bottles made from 100% recycled plastic, dedicated to its range of seed oils. This represents a major change for the sector, as it is a new type of plastic which is sustainable (100% of the plastic used to make it comes from recycling other bottles), but also performs well because it is able to maintain the same characteristics in terms of quality, safety and handling as traditional bottles.

Every element of the new packaging has been designed with the environment in mind: the sleeve that covers the bottle (essential for protecting the product from light) is made from an innovative recycled plastic, while the packaging that replaces the protective plastic film is made from 100% recycled cardboard. These are all solutions that make a clear cut to the release of virgin plastic into the environment and the emission of CO2, directly involving the end user in a path of responsible consumption and respect for the planet.

The new r-PET bottle is available in different sizes, from one litre to larger convenience sizes, for several types of oil: corn, peanut, sunflower and grapeseed.
