Ambienta SGR, one of Europe’s leading managers of funds focused on environmental sustainability, has recently announced the acquisition of Parini by Previero, a leader in the design of solutions for recycling plastic materials.
Founded in 1985 in Reggio Emilia, Parini is a key player in the design and production of advanced machinery for the mechanical separation of waste, including rigid plastics, films, and the removal of contaminants. This process represents a crucial phase in plastic recycling, complementing Previero's core business, which focuses on the washing of materials. Together, these technologies contribute to improving the efficiency and quality of recycling facilities.
The acquisition of Parini comes in a context of growing attention towards the circular economy of plastics. Currently, only 15% of global plastic waste is recycled, but strong expansion in this sector is expected over the next ten years, driven by stricter regulations and the increasing commitment of global brands towards sustainable packaging. The recycling market is evolving towards an integrated approach, with a greater demand for end-to-end solutions.
In this context, the acquisition represents a strategic step for Previero, enabling it to strengthen its offering of turnkey solutions by integrating Parini's advanced mechanical separation technologies. The new group, with a turnover exceeding €80 million and more than 130 employees, has ambitious growth plans and aims to become a global leader in the provision of integrated and sustainable recycling solutions.
The Parini family will continue to play a central role in the new direction of the company. Fabio Parini, the new CEO of Parini, stated: “We are excited and honoured to join Previero and Ambienta. The integration of our technical expertise with Previero’s advanced research and development capabilities and established market leadership will significantly enhance our positioning across the entire recycling value chain. This synergy will not only enrich our offering of integrated solutions but also expand its reach and effectiveness in the plastics recycling sector and other complementary areas.”
The transaction was supported by several law firms: Studio Baldi and Studio Busani assisted the Parini family, while Pedersoli Gattai and EY represented the buyers.
