In today’s landscape, characterised by a growing demand for sustainable solutions, industrial packaging faces complex challenges. Schütz, a manufacturer of industrial packaging, proves that quality and sustainability can go hand in hand with its Green Layer range - a tangible example of eco-friendly innovation.
Recycled Materials for a Sustainable Future
The Green Layer range includes IBC tanks, plastic drums, and jerrycans made with 30% high-quality recycled material. A distinctive feature of the production process is the use of recycled material exclusively in the intermediate layer of the inner bottle, while the inner and outer layers are made from virgin HDPE. This ensures that both the contained product and the environment come into contact only with new materials, maintaining the same quality standards as traditional solutions.
By using recycled materials, Schütz significantly reduces its carbon footprint: each IBC tank saves up to 6.8 kg of CO2, while each drum saves up to 3.8 kg. These packaging solutions are particularly suitable for transporting hazardous goods, combining safety with eco-friendliness.
Schütz takes a holistic approach to sustainability through its global collection programme, the Schütz Ticket Service. This initiative allows customers to return empty packaging, which is recycled at the company’s specialised facility. This system ensures a closed-loop material cycle, reducing waste and optimising transport routes with low CO2 emissions.
