Best Packaging 2021. Today's "ethical" packaging: the future is already here

Promoted by Istituto Italiano Imballaggio, and managed by Packaging Meeting Srl, the BEST PACKAGING contest has been revamped: it is in fact the Ethical Packaging Charter Foundation that has signed the competition, which for over 60 years has rewarded innovation in packaging.

The 2021 edition of the Best Packaging Oscar will certainly be remembered for a decisive stance on the ethical and sustainable value of innovation in packaging: the conceptual core of the contest, in fact, it has guided companies on a path of development from which it is now impossible to shift from.

This is, after all, the basic thought that the Ethical Charter of Packaging Foundation wanted to share and disseminate by supporting the contest, on the strength of the 10 principles of the Ethical Packaging Charter. These same principles will correspond to 10 prizes, assigned by a technical jury to the packaging deemed worthy because it is Responsible, Balanced, Safe, Accessible, Transparent, Informative, Contemporary, Forward-looking, Educational and Sustainable.

We would like to remind you that this year the contest is once again supported by Altroconsumo, Brera Design District, Conai, the Milan Polytechnic and Ipack-Ima2022, in the role of main partner.

In the hope that health conditions will allow it, the exhibition of the finalist products and the awards ceremony are scheduled from September 4 to 10 during the Milan Design Week, at the Mimmo Scognamiglio Artecontemporanea Gallery in the Brera Design District.

THE 10 VALUES OF THE ETHICAL PACKAGING CHARTER

01. RESPONSIBLE | 02. BALANCED | 03. SAFE| 04. ACCESSIBLE | 05. TRANSPARENT | 06. INFORMATIVE | 07. CONTEMPORARY | 08. FORWARD-LOOKING | 09. EDUCATIONAL | 10. SUSTAINABLE

BEST PACKAGING: A TECHNOLOGICAL PRESENT AND A RESPONSIBLE FUTURE COME TOGETHER IN THE 27 PRODUCTS ENTERED (primary and secondary packaging, complements, packaging systems) that have a common denominator: the ability of companies to imagine valid alternatives to the inconsiderate consumption of resources, designing and producing safe, high-performance packaging that is beautiful to look at, easy to use, environmentally friendly, and often the result of intense supply chain collaboration.
