On 21 February Packaging Speaks Green will be offering participants a morning packed with contributions, focussing in particular on materials and technologies. The first speaker on the agenda is Paola Fabbri, associate professor at the University of Bologna’s department of civil, chemical, environmental and materials engineering, who will be providing us with insights into packaging and sustainability, and scientifically debunking a series of common myths.
Alessandro Manzardo, meanwhile, co-founder of the University of Padua’s Spinlife joint venture, will be exploring various green opportunities, approaches, and methods.
The round table discussion due to follow, titled “The future of sustainable packaging starts now” will be concentrating on the progress achieved so far in terms of materials and technologies. Taking the floor afterwards, Amcor, Novamont, BillerudKorsnäs, NatureWorks and Braskem will be discussing renewable materials, while TerraCycle, Hera and AliPlast will be offering an indepth exploration of end-of-line materials and Michele Frascaroli, technical director at CRIT will be showcasing sustainable technologies within the production processes. Finally, a focus study dedicated to universities will involve speakers from University of Bologna, Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino.
The closing speech by Enrico Aureli, chairman of Ucima, will bring to a close this event, dedicated to getting the green voice of Italian-made products and technologies heard around the world.
