Ferrarelle Società Benefit, one of Italy's largest mineral water producers, has chosen Sidel's Combi Predis aseptic technology to produce its new range of water and tea products, ensuring product integrity and long shelf life.
With this system, used for the Vitasnella 'Le Linfe' range, the Ferrarelle plant in Darfo Boario Terme (BS) is able to handle two different formats, 0.5 litre and 1.25 litre, at a rate of 18,000 bottles per hour, guaranteeing complete production sterility, beverage integrity and compliance with food safety parameters.

As our only production line for sensitive beverages, it was essential to have an aseptic system that could guarantee the highest level of product safety and integrity.
The Aseptic Combi Predis works by injecting hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into the preform just before it enters the oven. The H2O2 is activated by the heating phase of the existing preform, ensuring a high level of dry preform decontamination, a low total cost of ownership (TCO) and an optimised environmental footprint. This process uses no water and radically reduces the use of chemicals, meeting the high sustainability standards required and ensuring very flexible production.
This system, which optimises costs and environmental impact, has been installed in more than 200 solutions worldwide and has made Sidel one of the world leaders in aseptic production.
